Spotty WiFi...grrrr....

For reasons that elude me me, Dan, and the hotel staff, the wifi connection from my room has been spotty, at best. Alas, when I had the time to upload the next round of pix, I had no connection. Now that I have the connection, I'm a mere half-hour from departure for the day's sightseeing: Giac Lam pagoda, a cyclo tour of Cholon, lunch at Quan An Ngon restaurant, the Vietnam History Museum (which offers a water-puppet show in a three-row venue), and then to Hien's to help with the cooking for her birthday party tonight. Hoping Dan and Hien will join me for all or part of this, but Hien wants to buy a new dress for her party, and a girl has to consider her priorities! ;-)

I look forward to posting pictures of the last few days' sights, as well as today's. And yes, Land and Nan, I will be sure to photograph and describe all the food! And, yes, too, you shall both share the prize -- but what? what?? -- for identifying the dragon fruit and then super-identiying the dragon fruit. Yum! But what of the others?

Huh? It's called simply "green dragon"? I had something new again today in the way of fruit--the humble cherry. Not only is it more delicate than what we're used to, it's sold with pale orange salt for dipping/sprinkling! Yum! (JT)
