The last thing we did yesterday before returning to our hotel to freshen up for dinner was to secure me some fruit to keep in my room--fruit being the staple of my gastronomic existence. Having been smitten with the red, prickly-cactus-looking fruit we had for dessert after our welcome feast, I naturally wanted a stash of those, but have no better idea what they're called than I do the other goodies I squirreled away into my tropical-fruit larder. Bonus points to whomever can identify the alien-fetus-looking fruit, the inside of which is a whitish flesh speckled throughout with small black seeds the size of something between a poppy and a sesame seed. (Pic to follow of the inside; for now, here's the outside).
