A little tummy trouble and a disorienting night of sleep last night kept me in this evening, which was a good chance to blog and pack up for the next segment--our Halong Bay Junk Boat Cruise, Sea-Kayaking, and a night on Cat Ba Island at a resort. I know I speak for us all when I say we're looking forward to kicking back and not having to plan or execute anything. We leave our hotel tomorrow morning at 7:45, and leave the Handspan Eco-tour office at 8 by van/bus to the bay, where we board our boat.
"See" you back here in a few days! Love to all.

Any place named Cat Ba Island is ok in my book...feline/sheep sounding..hmmm I like it.
Hi Janice,
I have been following your adventures but have not had the time to respond back. Hope all is well. Oh and I have printed out a full size (stands about 6'tall)picture of you in the wedding garb. It's in my office, nice addition if I do say so myself.
Take care,
Peter
Peter, what an excellent idea!
Nancy,
Oh, well thank you very much! I can have several hundred copies made if anyone else is interested. Just a thought.
Peter
The last thing we need is me, cloned, wearing pancake make-up and false eyelashes! No one need worry, though, we have complete start-to-finish photos and Dan took two hilarious videos.
Nan, Cat Ba--where we are now--means "island of women" and I read an interesting short novel before I left the US that was set here. It gave me some nice background and a sense of the place. But when we arrived here after our yet-to-be-written-about experience aboard the junk, I indeed practically purred. Cat Ba Sunrise Resort is gorgeous! My room is beautiful and I have a stunning view of the bay. Good thing, because it's raining so I won't see much else until we leave the island today at 2:30 to head back to Hanoi. This is our first rainy day, so we can't complain though. The weather's been lovely, if hot and sticky some day. Still not at all as bad as I'd expected.
